Great, practical medical analogy of God's grace
With a medical background, I particularly enjoyed the medical analogies and case studied used throughout this book - but even if you do not have a medical background, the medical terminologies are explained in a simple way for a broad, general audience. Questions at the end of each chapter make this book user-friendly for group discussion. The use of the breathing analogy makes me more consciously aware of God's grace and more importantly, my utter, desperate need of it on a constant basis. As the author points out, this is not about a quick fix but a practical way to remind ourselves moment by moment to stay in God's grace and out of grace/Gospel-debt.

I'm in the medical field and was disappointed
I was very excited to read this, being in the medical field. I did love his talk about "breathing in grace," but felt that the rest of the book was not fun to read or very enlightening.

He uses medical analogies to explain spiritual con
Dr Kraus has come up with a compelling idea: medical conditions are analogous to our spiritual problems. He concentrates on how essential it is to keep our airway open. If it closes , we die. Spiritually, we need to keep our grace way open if we are to survive and flourish spiritually. He writes in a clear, concise way and always includes relevant Scripture to makes his points. It was enjoyable and challenging to read. I am reading it a second time to be sure that I "get it."

Wonderful book. Easy to read and follow. Gentle reminder to examine one's faith every moment to allow God's grace to flow through you. Heartfelt stories correlate to faith messages with scripture references. Study questions invite introspection and growth.
