These readings and the readings in the Advent companion are both amazingly wide in breadth and yet at the same time challenging in depth. I highly recommend this book and its companion "Watch for the Light." as regular readings each season they roll around. From one year to the next, I have found that my own faith is challenged and renewed in different ways; as I come to a given reading in a different year, I find myself at a new place, and the insights are valuable.

I recommend this compilation/lenten devotional.
It contain numerous, profound statements of faith by a very diverse range of authors.
I have read this volume over two Lenten seasons and been blessed.
It has also introduced me to several writers I would not have encountered otherwise. "All thing work to the good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."
