Paige Rogers, a quiet librarian in the small town of Split Creek, Oklahoma, had survived more exciting days dodging bullets to protect her country. And that is the beginning of a suspense adventure called Breach of Trust by DiAnn Mills. Paige is ex-CIA and hiding under a new name to protect her family from a man who betrayed her and his country. Now Daniel Keary wants more from her as he runs for governor of Oklahoma. But Paige has become a Christian and even as she tries to bring Keary down, she runs it all past her heavenly Father first.
Will Keary be able to stop Paige and stay a free man? Will Paige be able to protect her parents and her secret from Keary? What about Miles Laird? She is falling in love with himbut will he stay once he knows how she has deceived him and Split Creek? Does Keary have a mole in Split Creek?
DiAnn Mills has written an excellent suspense novel and shown us a glimpse of the pressures and conflicts that a Christian experiences when trying to serve and protect our country, within the CIA or any other covert operation. Paige and Miles are both Christians dealing with their past, seeking Gods will for the present, and trying hard to trust God for the future.
I would recommend this novel for teenagers on up, both men and women. (My husband enjoyed it!) Readers are drawn in from the beginning and kept guessing what will happen next. Highly recommended. Linda Demorest, www.ChristianBookPreviews.com

Now instead of securing America from the bad guys, she is securing library fines from overdue books. And just when she is settling into her new life, her past come back to haunt her. Paige begins to fight not only for her new home, but the feeling that have begun to develop for the high school football coach, Miles Laird.
I really like Paige. She was a refreshing character, smart, funny and complicated. She struggled through most of the book to find God's peace. I like that she bakes pies on Thursday and makes the Split Creek book club feel welcome and comfortable. Being a former spy she is used to living on her own, depending on no one but herself, so living in a small town presents its own challenges for her.
The one thing that did annoy me about Paige, was the fact she gave into the bad guy way to easily and then just expected the bad guy to keep his word. As a former CIA agent I would have expected a backup plan at the very least. For me, this made the story a bit less plausible.
Our hero, Miles Laird, took me longer to warm up to. I didn't find him all that interesting for about the first third of the book. It was only after he began to find that the pieces of Paige's history weren't adding up and he did some background investigating that he began to come alive for me. We learned that he used to own and run a security firm and why gave that up and come to Split Creek. It was then that he began to step up and we could see the hero in him.
The storyline itself was incredible. The author put together a wonderful story full of suspense with a touch of romance. There were a couple of plot twists that I didn't see coming, so that always thrills me when that happens.
I really enjoyed this book. It was entertaining as well as intriguing.
