Born Fundamentalist, Born Again Catholic
Helpful book for those seeking truth
Very good book to help people learn about Catholicism. Especially when you hear so many false accusations against the faith.

Every Catholic hater should read this book!
As a cradle Catholic, I thought several things to be true which I know believe the complete opposite. It was implied by non-Catholics that Catholics thought they were the only one's going to heaven. I now realize that many non-Catholics believe Catholics are doomed to hell. I also was led to believe by my non-Catholic friends that the Catholic religion was not a bible based faith. I now know there is no greater bible based faith than the Catholic faith. David Currie does an amazing job of articulating why the Catholic faith embodies the "Whole Truth" of the bible. Unfortunately, fundamentalist and evangelicals will only understand this if they have an open mind and heart. Two thoughts come to mind. "A man convinced against his will is unconvinced still"; and, "Please do not confuse me with the facts". It is also unfortunate that many Catholics would not really understand what David Currie explains in his book. As I become more involved with our church, I see more people doing more than attend Sunday mass. Before we can win the minds of people we must first win their hearts. I highly recommend the book to all Christians.

I've only read half of this book, but I'd like to say that I can not put it down! I'm a Catholic that has also been involved as a born again Christian, so I'm coming to the book from the opposite perspective of the author. The author was 100% a fundamentalist Christian who converted to Catholicism as he went on a quest for truth. Especially notable are his arguments for his conversion, and I've learned some perspectives about the Catholic faith that I never had considered. This book is unique and very readable. I don't really believe that one can say that it is Pro-Evangelical nor Pro-Catholic, except that the author made a personal journey towards one of the faiths. The book clears up many misconceptions that Evangelicals have been taught about the Catholic Church; plus, it gives much insight into Evangelicalism. I'm looking forward to my own experiences of having the two faiths in Christianity come together under one cause; our social ills and lack of morals. I really think that this book can be a bridge of understanding between the two faiths, whether one agrees with the author, or agrees to disagree with him. Excellent read.

This book is WONDERFUL! Living in the Bible Belt and being raised Catholic, sometimes it's difficult to explain our beliefs to fundamentalist critics. I have loaned this book out to many people. Great evangelizing tool for those who REALLY want to hear the truth, not just argue about what they THINK they know about Catholicism. Great job, David Currie!
