Return to the Bible as it was before chapters and verses. The Books of the Bible, NIV is a revolutionary new presentation of Scripture that strips away centuries of artificial formatting, leaving behind nothing but pure Bible text. The result is a hardcover Bible unlike any other available today—and more like the original Scriptures.
The Bible isn't a single book. It's a collection of many books that were written, preserved and gathered together so that they could be shared with new generations of readers. The Bible is an invitation to you to first view the world in a new way, and then to become an agent of the world's renewal. The Books of the Bible, NIV helps you have a more meaningful encounter with the sacred writings and to read with more understanding, without centuries of added formatting, so that you can take your place more readily within this story of new creation.
- Chapter and verse numbers have been removed from the text
- The books are presented according to the internal divisions that we believe their authors have indicated
- A single-column setting is used to present the text more clearly and naturally, and to avoid disrupting the intended line breaks in poetry
- Footnotes, section headings and any other additional materials have been removed from the pages of the sacred text
- Individual books that later tradition divided into two or more parts are put back together again.
- The books are arranged in an order that helps you understand the Bible more completely

It was the most fantastic version of the Bible that I have ever read! It is absolutely life changing. Having read the Bible in many different formats and versions, I still found myself surprised at things I had never noticed before. The story comes alive and you get sucked in like a good novel (which is the intent of this transcript.) It moves you through the events as they happened.
It starts with Luke, then Acts, and then through Paul's epistles. Going from start to finish like that made some things which Paul writes that are difficult to theologically understand make more sense because they are in context of their happenings. After Paul's letters, this book takes you on a journey through the other writers of the New Testament. It is fantastically arranged.
I am going to buy a box to give away and a box for my mother to give to her girls she ministers to. It's perfect to give to those who are just beginning their journey with God as well as those who wouldn't normally read anything. It is so easy to read that the big picture presents itself even to those who have difficulty reading.
The back ground information before you even start the New Testament is very well written. Then before each book there is an "invitation to the book" with historical/topical information relevant to understanding the book. I enjoyed each of these except the one for Revelation.
I absolutely LOVE "The Books of the Bible" and would recommend to everyone who wants to know God more intimately to read this format because if feels like a love letter. No matter how many times you've read the Bible or how many versions you already have, this Book is worth getting!
Q: Does this edition have NO chapter and verse markings? I am trying to find a bible (preferably NIV) that does not have any chapter and verse markings, headings and notes. It should be in a single column also. Is your ebook downloadable and printable? Thanks.
This New Testament is in paragraph format and does not contain any chapter or verse markings. It can be downloaded to any device that is connected to your CBD eBook account, but is not printable.
