still reading .. This is not a book to be read quickly. The very subject matter is about how it takes Years to become a "box of broken toys" .. Now, in shorter time than it took to become .. how do we undo the brokeness .. then what do we do with Our Life when that's accomplished .. Behold All Things Become New .. Sooooo, its uncharted territory to be discovered but, with a different set of eyes. I have always been pleased with Christianbook.com in every area of service .. Thank You ! September 14, 2012

Eye Opening This book taught me a lot about myself and I related to some of the stories in the book. It helped me to see that it is not my job to fix or enable people that make the wrong choices. They should be given the dignity and respect of dealing with thier choices. November 14, 2011

From Bondage to Bonding by Nancy Groom aims to explain codependency in an easy-to-understand manner. However, it goes further and teaches the readers how to process codependency and move on from it. It also takes the Twelve Steps and explains it further.Having been in an abusive, codependent relationship myself, I find myself being helped a lot by this book. I have been processing my abusive relationship for years with my sister who also happens to be a professional psychotherapist. Reading this book has helped me to understand myself better.Its more than just defining what codependency is - the author diagnoses how the abuse started, what our needs are, what it resulted into. The second part analyzes the Twelve Steps Program and how it applies to the person trapped in codependency.I think that it was from the combined efforts of the years of therapy and the understanding that I gained from this book that I was finally able to confront my abuser. Its not yet over, my struggle with the abuser, but Im getting there. February 9, 2010
