My pastor's wife has referred to this book many times, so I felt I had to purchase it. I am not halfway through it yet, but have found so far that it is an excellent study on what love really is, not just what we think it is or should be. There are some pretty bold and eye-opening statements that make you sit up and take notice. "The thought that the Cross is not merely the revelation of God's love, but is first the expression of His holy fury is foreign to our ears." "Talent without love is deafening; spiritual discernment and power without love is debasing; and sacrifice of possession or body without love is defrauding." In reading this book we really have to take a much deeper look into our own hearts and examine our motives, attitudes, and the false conceptions we have formed throughout our lives. We may have to totally revamp our idea of love in terms of God's love as it truly is and what it requires of us. This is not a book to read casually, but a thorough read just might change lives in a wonderful way.
This product has been like reading a good fiction book and it is not fiction. I look for minutes between activities to read another page. This usually only happens with me when reading exciting fiction. Glad I heard about it and ordered it.
This book will challenge what we believe about God's love for us and our love for others. There is no greater command then we love each other as Christ has loved us. I bought five copies for friends because of how significant this book is to me. I highly recommend it.
Highly, highly recommend this book.Read with your pen & Bible nearby.A strong, sound, interesting, insightful and wise book. Takes the offended to the place of wanting to seek restoration without accepting more transgressions by combining boundaries with the giving of good (and appropriate) "gifts" to the offender whether they are "inclined to evil", a "normal sinner" or "a fool". Take time to read this one, pick it up, put it down, think it through, apply it, pick it up again.
