I only read the first few chapters so far, but I find it quite useful. It's easy to read, while still remaining deep. It seems to me so far that he is dedicated to six day creation, however he gave up the fight for the when of it. He feels it happened millions of years ago, because he admits to have difficulty with believing it happened only a few thousands of years ago. I would still recommend it, as the commentator is committed to understand the Truth, and he starts with the Bible, lifting up its authority. As D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones said: "We don't believe in popes." Keep it in mind and use this book.

A great commentary for preaching or developing illustrations. Boice primarily connects the text to the New Testament and develops an interpretation from a christian perspective. There's little deep analysis of language or multiple interpretations from other experts.

I thoroughly enjoyed his work. I used this 3 vol set in conjunction with 2 other commentaries. I looked most forward to Boice's. He did not get bogged down in trying to prove the Bible, instead he showed the foundational characters and applied it to life.

Disappointed. I was hoping for an exposition and received an apologetic work. The capitulation to modern science(falsely called) in the creation narrative was also a disappointment.
