Product Description

Rev Win Brady and his fiancee Ginger's good friend, Detective Bray Sanderson, receives a substantial insurance settlement after the passing of a distant relative. When Bray accepts an invitation to his late uncle's secluded Lake Champlain island estate, Win becomes suspicious of Bray's sudden importance to a family he's been alienated from for over 25 years. What exactly is the "family business" that no one wants to talk about? Why do the Sandersons never leave their island home? And what accounts for the 'disappearances' and 'accidents' over the years which have taken the lives of several relatives, including Bray's parents?

After reading the first two books in this series and reading some of this one, I didnt quite recognize the writing as from the same author. Even after delving more into it, I had a difficult time following it as closely as the others. I was considering reading it a second time to see if I could pick up on some of the things I didnt quite understand. I dontknow a thing about boats or the different types talked of throughout (ie...waverunner)Bray certainly does have a messed up family and we dont find out what goes on, on the island until late in the story. There are a lot of new characters in this book and it helps a lot if you at least know some of them from reading the previous books in this series before attempting this one. This book was good too with a lot of action, however again, the main characters escape from harm a little too easily. Theres a lot of jumping from scene to scene which isnt really a problem as long as you can remember what happened previously. There is some predictibility but not in a boring way.

This book had a few good spots but not many. I had a hard time staying with it, and the end was goofy. For a book that should have been full of suspense it had very little.
