Kate Adams once again finds herself smack dab in an investigation - this time for counterfeiting. She's determined to make sure her elderly neighbor isn't charged and will do whatever it takes to help Detective Tom Parker find the real culprit.
Tom Parker is struggling to remain impartial in his examination of the evidence when he is having trouble denying his growing attraction for his prime suspect. When continual threats crop up concerning Kate, he's determined to do whatever he can to protect her even if it means earning her ire in the process.
This continuing saga between Kate and Tom, set in Port Aster, is a fun and exciting read from Sandra Orchard. I eagerly look forward to the final book to this adventure when hopefully the duo will overcome their differences and come together. You won't be disappointed by this second book in the series.

As family secrets come to light, her world--and her budding romance with Tom--begin to crumble. To Kate, it's clear that she won't be safe until she uncovers all of Port Aster's secrets. But is it too late for her and Tom?
Review: Very suspenseful and well written. Even though this was a sequel to Deadly Devotion it was still readable as a stand alone. There was some spoilers throughout the book, but not enough to keep me from reading the first in the series someday. I found the storyline to be interesting. There was a lot going on throughout the story but I never felt like things were so scattered that they couldn't be resolve in the last 30 minutes of reading the book. It is nice to see the immediate things resolved. There were times that I was on the edge of my seat and a bit jumpy due to the events occurring in the book. I love the thrill of the suspense and the characters were original and likable. The secondary characters and some surprises kept me going to the end. I am looking forward to the next book in the Port Aster Secrets series.
I would like to thank Net Galley and Revell for allowing me to read and review this book in return for a free copy and I was never asked to write a favorable review by anyone.
Pharma Corporation against anyone who gets in their way-is the backdrop.
We follow a successful creative, Lab Researcher, Kate, whose friend /fellow Botanist/Discoverer of a cure-all tonic for Pets is suddenly gone-as in past this life, dead. Kates childhood losses resonate with this sudden death, as she continues on with the documenting research of her deceased Business/Research Partner, she ends up facing off with her dead Fathers former employer, and World Conglot Pharma Corporation. The hidden friction begins to smoke, blooming in so many ways, chattering and trying to continue to destroy after decades.
Who would have thought so much drama could evolve out of useful, needed, just, enabling, natural solution?
Love, and all its convolutions, appear in several forms, in the lives of the characters. Youll feel sorrow for the lost years, while you yell at the other one to watch out, and stomp your foot to tell the first one to go ahead!
Can we blindly trust? Should we? Whom should we blindly trust, and when? Good questions underlie the journeys we make with the characters.
As the author's disclaimer says, Bind Trust is best read as the second book in the series. Having said that, it does read well as a standalone, however obviously acts as a spoiler to the mystery in the first book.
I think Orchard has created a new genre...suspestry? Or myspense? A suspense/mystery hybrid. :-) Whatever you want to call it, this is a page-turning read. The author's detail-oriented, steel-trapped mind is scary! How she keeps everything straight as she weaves the current plot and overall series arc together is beyond me. I'm just glad she does! Honestly, my mind was reeling by the end of the book. And the end? Sob, more of a cliff hanger!
Kate and Tom are back dancing around a relationship. One step forward, two steps back. That's all right, I know they are destined for each other. Can't wait until the next book to follow their romance to it's rightful conclusion.
If you like a good mystery with a liberal dose of suspense and dashes of humour and light romance then Blind Trust is definitely the book for you!
I finished Sandra Orchard's book, Blind Trust, last night! And now I can't wait for book #3 in this series! I must get answers! And these characters need justice! Keep on writing great books Sandra Orchard!
