Publisher's Description

Being a parent of an adult child is a delicate balance of loving and accepting the child while maintaining healthy boundaries. Many parents find releasing their grown children a challenge, and while parents usually want to be supportive, the choices adult children make are sometimes unacceptable to them, leading to disappointment, anger, and guilt feelings. Both parents and grown kids have many adjustments to make as the child separates from the parents’ control. With this book, parents will learn to move forward into a new type of relationship with their kids.

This book is an excellent tool for maturing parents who are seeking to better understand ways to love, understand, and accept their adult children. Blessing Your Grown Children thoroughly explains and discusses the rich opportunities and daunting challenges second-stage parents face, and then follows up each chapter with practical information and encouraging tools such as ways to establish better communication, how to resolve conflicts, prayers, boundary setting ideas, blessing strategies, and much more. Debra Evans has written a valuable resource for Christian parents who desire healthy family relationships, whether their children are 18, 35, or 50. I've already re-read several sections and have been recommending this one to my friends.

Every stage of parenting has its rewards and challenges and we thought, after making it through diapers, passing potty training, & surviving adolescence that our job was going to get a lot easier. Silly us. 'Blessing Your Grown Children' has given us the tools and insights we needed to renew and strengthen our relationships with our grown children. It contains real life scenarios, followed by thoughtful questions for reflection and Bible verses to complement the topic. Especially for families who are struggling with their relationships with their adult children in a complicated world. I highly recommend this book. It is a gem.
