Fleeing assailants through deserted alleyways, Thomas Hunter narrowly escapes to the roof of a building. Then a silent bullet from the night clips his head . . . and his world goes black.
From the blackness comes an amazing reality of another world where evil is contained. A world where Thomas Hunter is in love with a beautiful woman.
But then he remembers the dream of being chased through an alleyway as he reaches to touch the blood on his head. Where does the dream end and reality begin?
Every time he falls asleep in one world, he awakes in the other. Yet in both, catastrophic disaster awaits him . . . may even be caused by him.
Some say the world hangs in the balance of every choice we make. Now the fate of two worlds hangs in the balance of one man's choices.
Debra1776Fullerton, CAGender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Two thumbs up!!October 13, 2012Debra1776Fullerton, CAGender: femaleI thouroughly enjoyed this book. I have read the Circle books (Black, Red, White, Green) twice. Black is filled with suspense mixed with sci-fi, fantasy, and Spiritual truths about God and how he LOVES us! You won't be able to put it down!

It has been out for a few years. I was a little leary of reading this book because I read a previous book by Ted Dekker. "Three" Although it was great I hated the ending because I am a sucker for happy endings. But I gave in and purchased this book used. This book was easy reading but was filled with imagination and suspence. The world that Thomas visits when he sleeps is amazing. It is like what the Garden of Eden must really have been like in the beginning. The story he tells of talking with Elyon and the love and innocense because of evil not being unleashed yet blew me away. When evil did come I was actually sad. The book is unbelievable. Getting ready to start "Red".
