It was a little too much for me, and it bogged me down a bit.
And the name of one of the family pets in the story is, in my opinion, a swear word, "The Bastard" which means I cannot donate this series to our church library.
The overall story was alright and I will read the other two books in the series since I bought them already, but I won't be in a hurry to buy this author's books again.
CoraAge: Over 65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5English novel of duty versus loveAugust 29, 2013CoraAge: Over 65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Ms Goudge writes a vivid English novel about love that clashes with duty. Her style is similar to Jane Austen, even the Brontes, with much detail but the novel is worth every minute invested. Also recommended is THE DEAN'S WATCH by Eliz Goudge.
