I purchased the CD instead of the book because my children are auditory learners . It is more than just a reading of the text of the book . There are different readers and music to make it very captivating to the listener. The content is exceptional. Great source for Christian worldview.

Ok, the idea behind this is great. I thought this would come with some kind of guide but it doesn't. I also expected there to be chapter intro's or something along those lines so you can know what section you are doing as you go...it doesn't. It's just numbered in a strange way and am I am not sure it even coincides with the book as I bought this in leiu of the book.

If you have very young children, visually impaired children, auditory learners, or want older students who aren't reading at this level to work independently, this could be a good substitute for buying the book or to accompany the book as it states. For me, I plan our lessons ahead of time and I thought it would be a little easier to do and cheaper plus give my boys a chance to not always have to hear my voice .

That leads me to my next point. The audio is clear but the reading is very sub-par. The voices sound very robotic and I find it to be very grating on the nerves. Not professional and not very pleasant to listen to.

I find it very hard to give this product a good review at all. It's not the worst thing in the world but not what I expected from Apologia. I am a HUGE Apologia fan and am using their curriculum for science exclusively and HIGHLY recommend their book products. This is one of those items I would recommend sticking with the book and wish I had. Unless you fall into a category from above with special needs, invest in the book.
