Inspiring Exploration of Jubilee Written by two career missionaries, this book explores how understanding the biblical concepts of Sabbath and Jubilee can inspire Christians to undertake a whole-person and a whole-society approach to ministry. Especially of value to teachers is use of The Champagne Glass Analogy, introduced early in the book, which demonstrates that the great economic disparity of today is not so unlike the gap between rich and poor faced by societies throughout the biblical period. Considering how Jesus drew upon the Jubilee metaphor may serve as a model for our own ministry. August 5, 2011

When I read this book the first time, I knew it was the most personally challenging book I had ever read. When I read it the second time, I wondered where I was on the first reading, because it was even more challenging than I remembered, and more personal. On the third reading, I underlined almost every word. Now, the problem is to live what's left of my life as humbled as I should be and to stop making the automatic decisions which hurt people I don't know. August 10, 2001
