    Great Bible for new Christians
    July 20, 2015
    Tamara
    Quality: 0
    Value: 0
    Meets Expectations: 0
I bought this Bible for my husband, a fairly new Christian of just a few years ago.

I previously bought him a MacArthur study Bible, which is total apostasy. Never buy any Bible until you look how the Bible is interpreting the gospel of John. Most all the new bibles, such as NIV and RSV (and the New Age Bibles) are all garbage because they are intentionally minimizing Christ's deity.

If we don't believe Christ was Divine, that he is One with the Triune God, then you've just joined the MASSIVE RANKS of alleged clueless Christians. After He rose from the dead, then He sent the Holy Spirit--with power! Don't believe that either?? Then you really just believe that Christ was "a good man," or "another prophet" and you are a candidate for conversion into your local mosque!

Dear people, do some DUE diligence. The WORD of God is how you MEET Jesus. This Bible is published by Thomas Nelson, a REPUTABLE editor and publisher. Many, many false Bibles exist today. Be very careful "where" they are leading you.

John 5 explanation: "Deity of Christ: Christ, the second person of the Trinity, is 1) equal to the Father in nature, 2) separate in person, 3) submissive in duties. As such, HE IS GOD. He 1) applies the titles of deity of Himself, 2) speaks of God as uniquely His Father, 3) uses the Yahwistic "I Am," 3) Claims to be equal with God in nature." [Numbering added by me.] The editor goes on to explain that, in scripture, OTHERS have also CLAIMED to be God, such as Herod, but that of course, Herod DIED and did NOT rise from the dead. They give REAL references--such as Genesis 3:16. Excellent.

NEVER BUY A BIBLE THAT IS SELF-REFERRING. For example, many of these "modern" Bibles, if you open them randomly--let's use the difficult Book of Romans as an example. They take a difficult passage in Romans 3 and refer you to Romans 4. Well, that's no help at all! In fact, that's the point, isn't it??? They do NOT intend to be any help. The Bible should refer you to 1) the words of Jesus Himself (serious stuff), 2) the words of Moses in the Torah (serious stuff), 3) the words of David, a man "after God's own heart" (serious stuff--the Psalms are NOT just poetry), 4) the words of a major prophet (serious stuff), 5) or the words of the Apostle Paul in one of his letters to the churches (serious stuff.) The BETTER the Bible, the more complete the referrals to other SERIOUS passages.

John 1 - "The primary name Jesus used of Himself was 'Son of man.' It emphasizes his Messianic office but also uniquely identifies his humanity."

VERY IMPORTANT. He was incarnate of a VIRGIN--and BECAME man. The new apostate Bibles actually leave this virgin part out, then also emphasize that he was ONLY a man, by emphasizing that his Father was Joseph! Really?? So in these apostate Bibles, Christ was not DIVINE!

If you don't "get this," that Jesus was BOTH divine AND became human, then you can't understand how he could LITERALLY take ALL of Adam's SIN NATURE upon his body. This is why the major OT prophets called Jesus THE SECOND ADAM.

This Bible, further explaining John 1, refers you to the Acts of the Apostles. Excellent. How many Christians have actually read Acts? Very few. I talk to these alleged Christians continually. They actually say, "I don't believe that Acts stuff.. That was then."

Here's what this Bible says: "When Stephen spoke of seeing the Son of Man standing on the right hand of God, he was clearly referring to the Messiah. As Messiah, Jesus fulfilled the anointed offices of Prophet, Priest and King." This Bible supports this by sending you to Deuteronomy, Samuel, Psalms, Philippians,... and even Revelation! Excellent.

Explanation of "the Word" in John 1:1 - "One of THE MOST IMPORTANT [nice!] titles of Christ is Logos. This is GOD'S REVELATION OF HIMSELF TO HUMANITY. If the source of this word is from the Hebrew, it refers to Wisdom (Proverbs chapters 5 -8) or to the Law (Ex 20)." Excellent. This is a very SERIOUS ADMISSION here. In fact, the original N.T. was written in Aramaic--not Greek--because in Jesus' time they all still spoke Hebrew. The original followers of Jesus did NOT speak Greek. (Read the account of Pentecost carefully, in Acts.) Of all the NT writers, only Paul spoke both Greek and Hebrew.

So we note here that this Bible really DOES want a student to understand what Jesus himself meant when he said, "I came to fulfill THE LAW."

Exodus is one of THE MOST IMPORTANT BOOKS OF THE ENTIRE BIBLE, and not JUST because of the commandments--but because of the understanding of the MIRACLES, the PASSOVER LAMB...AND the wandering around in the desert and FALLING AWAY, resulting in not entering the PROMISED LAND. The entire book of Exodus is a prophecy of TODAY. We are about to witness God's hand in the Earth today, and we'd better stop wandering around in the desert and figure out who the LAMB is. He's not some 'good man.'

John 4: "John gives three descriptions of God: 1) Spirit (4:24) 2) Love (I John 4:8) and Light (I John 1:5)" Note how this Bible sends you to the EXTREMELY IMPORTANT reference, I John 1:1-5. More explanation: "God is a spirit who is invisible and without a body. He is a divine person who reveals himself in perfect intellect, emotion and will. He is the source and personification of all material and spiritual life. He is self-existence. He is eternal to time. He is unlimited in the immensity of space. He is immutable in nature. He is the unity of all existence. He is consistent in being." [There's more.]

John 3: "The Greek word monogenes is used by John to convey the unique relationship between God the Father, as well as Jesus as the Son of the Father. It distinguishes Christ as the ONLY Son of God, in contrast with the many children of God. We BECOME the children of God, whereas Jesus was ALWAYS the Son of God. "

This Bible then sends you to the Apostle Paul, who explains that "Jesus is the firstborn." You do realize that many of these new apostate Bibles have struck the word "firstborn" out of their Bibles! They do NOT want you to understand that Jesus 1) came from the lineage of David, 2) is the ROYAL FIRSTBORN, and 3) he was the UNBLEMISHED, SPOTLESS, FIRSTBORN LAMB --the required Levitical offering. THIS IS WHY WE DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE AN OFFERING. Our offering, Paul says, is ourselves, our gratefulness, and living a life that glorifies Jesus!! "Christ in you, our HOPE of GLORY."

How does ANY of the Bible make any sense without reading the entire thing?

Most new Christians, when reading their first Bible, start with the gospels, and then branch out. These apostate Bibles know this! That is WHY they do not refer you to the important other passages! Bibles should not be filled with flowery INTERPRETATIONS WRITTEN BY MAN. They must refer you to the Word of God Himself.

Put all this together, dear people! If your apostate Bible does not point out that Christ was the ONE WHO WAS PROPHESIED, that HE FULFILLS THE LAW, that he IS DIVINE, that he ROSE FROM THE DEAD...and that HE IS THE JUDGE (he says so himself many times in the gospels) and that he IS COMING WITH A SWORD (!!) then you will NOT be prepared for the terrible judgment that is coming to America. Even worse, you're worshipping "another Jesus" and "another gospel" --which the Apostle Paul PROPHESIED WOULD HAPPEN IN THE LAST DAYS.

So, for a newbie, I recommend this Bible.

For a serious student, I recommend a straight KJV, a Webster's collegiate dictionary, the original Strong's concordance (not one of the new apostate ones!) and the Interlinear.

The SHEEP are being SEPARATED from the GOATS, right now. Get serious about your Bible time. Life is not a fill-in-the-blank.

It seems that Liberty U. with Dr. Ed Hindson used allegorical interpretation sometimes and literal, other times. I thought more of Ed Hindson and Liberty until I read some of their notes. I actually had to scratch some out. I enjoy MacArthur much better, but you may like this one, I did not.
