Another satisfied product delivery.
All the products I have ever received from CBD have been in their usual well packaged condition and so too this product, a black bonded leather compact ed. NET bible. Though CBD at that time offer the Study bible ed., in the European brown, I am very satisfied with this version for now. It has premium sewn binding with golden edges. The paper feels durable (within handling), and in the back has a small concordance, mega translation notes, glossary of terms and verses, principles of translations, book abbreviations, bible answers to life questions, prayer, scripture memory, detailed table of contents and lastly, an index of maps. I really like this bible's offerings for such a compact size. And though compact it has more than would be expected. As for rendered language, I will need to do more comparison examination. This is a great "little" bible product, as its many types of information and helps much outweigh its 'value' category.

Good Bible
I like the NET's technical nature and its readability. I find it to be the best of both worlds between translations like the NIV and the KJV. I have the 2nd Beta edition of the NET, with the huge number of notes, so I ordered this version as a smaller, more portable version. I'm not so concerned with the lack of notes as I have access to them in my full version and online. I would recommend the NET to both the "professional" who needs a version of scripture to study from and prepare lessons or sermons (though I'd recommend getting the full version with all notes in that case) or for the person with a desire for a Bible that reads very smoothly in the English language but that also retains a very high degree of technical accuracy. Readers who are distracted by a high volume of notes would find this as the best NET for them as the number of notes has been drastically reduced to accommodate the smaller format.
This particular copy had slight damage to a few pages. Mostly pages in the concordance, and the damage is only very slight. Probably an issue in manufacturing. Slightly disappointing, but realistically even if I received a copy in perfect condition I would have dropped it or something and marred it just as bad within a week or two!

The NET translation has 1)the eloquence of the King James Version without the stuffiness and 2)the clarity of other modern translations without being too contempory. For me it is a very good read. This is now my translation of choice. I chose the compact version because I did not want the distraction of the notes found in the larger edition ( the 7,722 translation notes included in this smaller edition are enough for me). while I will use it for study, my goal for the coming year is to simply read God's word and let the Spirit speak to me. It's compact size makes for easy travel and reading in bed. For the price,it is a very well put together Bible.
