Not great for Toddlers
January 31, 2014
I was reading this to my 3 year old and 2 year old at lunchtime. I thought it would be good for them - you know kids LOVE animals. So I started reading one devotional a day. Then I stopped after 3 days of sacrificing animals and there were several days worth of sacrificing animals after that. Good idea for a devotional but it got too gory for me to read to my little ones. I am off to hunt for another devotional that isn't as gory because my kids LOVED the lunchtime devotionals.
I bought this book for my 6 year old daughter because she loves animals and she loves Bible stories. I knew it was probably too hard for her to read on her own, but figured I could read it with her. She loved this book so much that she read the entire thing on her own. There was really a lot of vocabulary in it that she hadn't learned to read yet, but she loved it so much that she kept plugging through. It took her a long time, but she finally finished it! I would highly recommend this to anyone with a child who loves animals...it makes reading interesting...and if they are going to be reading, what better to read than Bible stories?
