Christian Pastors & Lay Counselors Need This Book
December 28, 2012
This book provides an in-depth look at abuse in the Christian home starting with how clergy need to believe a person's story of abuse even when it involves another person in ministry. There are too many stories of abused women who have gone to their priest or pastor for help only to be told they need to "respect" their husband more or be more submissive, or learn to be a better wife! Then there are the stories of women who could prove they were being abused and the church provided help and support to her, but did not hold the abuser accountable in any way. "Beyond Abuse in the Christian Home" brings awareness of different forms of abuse and many different ways the church can provide help and restoration to both the victim and the abuser. Glad I bought it!
