Her Second Husband Healed the Sorrow of a Tragic Loss.
Her First Has Just Returned from the Dead.
Which Man Has the Right to Claim Daria’s Heart?
After two years of serving as a missionary in a remote area of South America, Daria Camfield has returned to the States to mourn her husband, reportedly killed while providing medical aid to a neighboring Colombian village.
One family discovers how God can redeem any tragedy.
At first, Daria finds comfort only in the daughter born to her after Nate’s tragic death. As she begins to heal, she also finds a listening ear and a tender heart in her new boss, veterinarian Colson Hunter. Determined to move forward with life, Daria ignores the still small voice calling her to wait and accepts Cole’s marriage proposal. But after the wedding, Daria’s new dream life turns into a nightmare with the arrival of an unbelievable
telegram:“Nathan Camfield found alive. Flying into K.C. Int’l. via Bogota…”
Now two men have the right to her daughter, her life, and her love. Will Daria return to her beloved first
husband, abandoning Cole? Or will she reject Nate and choose the only man her daughter has ever called “Daddy”--a man she has come to cherish with all her heart?

But this story was too "drama queen". It was a far cry from where a Christian wife in grief is - a subject I know. Yes, everyone is different, but even in the depth of grief when you abandon your faith - and yes, it happens, reason still exists; not panic.

I loved this book and the way it was written. The way Raney showed women can fight what God is telling us to do, and do things OUR way.....and yet our God is so amazing that He will love and take care of us even after our selfish ways. I find myself wondering what on Earth I would do if given a choice like that. What an impossible choice. Thank you for this book and making me remember how much love our Father has for us!
K Goodman5 Stars Out Of 5July 12, 2010K GoodmanThis was the first book I had read of this author. I could not put it down and would stay up late reading it. Even though I don't like her choice in the end, this is the best book I have ever read. I have got many others to reading it too!

Nikki Studebaker Barcus5 Stars Out Of 5May 10, 2010Nikki Studebaker BarcusDaria Camfield watches her husband walk away, never to return to their small hut in the jungles of Columbia. The young widow returns to the States heart-broken but holding the secret she never had a chance to share with Nathanshe carries their baby. Daria struggles to make a way for herself and her newborn daughter. When Dr. Colson Hunter enters her life, she wonders at the fact that God would allow her a second chance at love and family. When word arrives that Nathan is alive, Daria is caught between her two husbands and realizes she loves them both. Finally she turns to the God she has kept shut out of her life for far too long.Wonderfully written, believable, genuine characters come to life on the page with all their faults and glories. Raney shows just how easily we can justify the choices we make. She also shows the dangers of setting our own path rather than relying on God and waiting on His timing. The book explores relationship issues between husband and wife, parent and child, and adult parents and their children, giving biblical views of each. Beneath a Southern Sky takes an honest look at the struggles of new marriage, the deep riches of committed relationships, and the reality of sacrificial love. A wonderful, gripping story of sacrifice and second chances, it made my mind raced ahead to discover how Raney could possibly resolve this in a satisfying, biblical, and believable way. A believable ending is made even more powerful and satisfying by a touching epilogue. Recommended for women of any age.
