Tell us a little about yourself. We are family counselors and authors; God has called us to strengthen marriages and help families to be healthy places, spiritually and emotionally. God has taken us to every corner of the globe -- more than 40 nations so far -- to learn from couples and families in many cultures.
What was your motivation behind this project? When it's time to radically transform a marriage, how does this actually happen? In most cases, change begins in the heart of the wife --- not because she's the problem, but because she is the one who is AVAILABLE TO GOD to let Him do His good work. We have watched God do positively AMAZING THINGS when a wife is available to Him. GOD IS SO GOOD, AND SO POWERFUL.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? We already know God CAN and DOES radically transform marriages --- we keep watching Him do it again and again in "impossible" cases. Some of these cases are in this new book --- a readable collection of stories and situations where God's power has been released into very difficult marriages, places where wives were hurting. And brand-new stories are being written right now, in the HEARTS AND LIVES of READERS.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? This is not a crying book --- well, mostly not --- but we went through a LOT of tissues on this one! It's just so inspiring to watch God work, up close and personal, in cases where most people would simply give up. GOD DOES THE IMPOSSIBLE EVERY DAY: IT'S WHO HE IS, IT'S WHAT HE DOES.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Among authors we've met, whose books we read and treasure, are Stormie O'Martian, Elizabeth George, and Francine Rivers. All three write powerful books for and about women. All three are humble servants of God, very down-to-earth and approachable in real life. We admire them greatly and we try to learn from their wise approach to writing, serving, and ministry.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: Yes. If you're a wife in a difficult marriage, or you're in a spiritual mismatch, or you have a husband who is so distant or closed off: DON'T GIVE UP. Read this book with a prayerful and open heart, allowing God to work IN YOU. Regardless of everything else God does, His work IN YOU will be life-changing and wonderful! You can TRUST HIM.
