Beacon Small-Group Bible Studies, Micah, Obadiah: What Does the Lord Require?
I did this Bible study with a small group of women. It felt like, at times, I was taking an English Lit course. In every lesson there is dialogue to 'act out', the author asks us to draw pictures, write folk songs, bumper sticker slogan, has us read poems by Carl Sandburg & others. Perhaps he is trying to hit on all learning styles, but it got a bit tedious. Sometimes the author plugs in 'facts', but then doesn't tell us where he got his information. The last lesson in the book asks that you prepare a quiz for the other people in your study group and prepare a lesson plan as well. This book has a 1985 copyright, but many of Wesley Tracy's examples are dated and from the 1960's. I will say that I know more about the books Micah & Obadiah than I did before, however, I will not be doing anymore of Mr. Tracey's studies.
