BarlowGirl did a fabulous job with this album! Standout [cover] tracks for me include "It's the most wonderful time of the year", "What Child is This", "Angelic Proclamation", and "Carol of the Bells" (best version I've ever heard!). I also think that Lauren did really great vocals on the title track with the jazzy harmonies only adding to the song. However, my favorite off this album has to be the original 'Light has come'. The powerful lyrics the girls are known for paired with the beautiful music makes for one of the best songs this season! This album will be a staple in my collection forever!
This is a MUST BUY, even if it is not Christmas time. The great BarlowGirl harmonies make so many of their songs sweet music to our ears. They have the excellence of the Andrew Sisters and on the classic selections you just might think that's who you're hearing. Hallelujah, beautifully performed and written by BarlowGirl, is destined to become a Christmas tradition. Panis Angelicus is a treasure that lifts up the Lord, and I'm sure pleases Him. My all time favorite carol, O Come, O Come Emmanuel is done so well, I rank this version 2nd only to that by Selah. This is really a lot of God honoring music for the money, mixed with some old fashion Christmas fun!
The wonderful Barlow sisters have done it again! What a lovely album. Their rendition of "Silver Bells" is outstanding. We enthusiastically recommend all of their releases. God bless Barlow Girl, and their family :)
Nope, not 11. In fact, I am 6 times that. And, nope, I don't have to 'fight' with my daughter (or son) over it - it is MINE! So, I'm a spoiled 'Senior Citizen" that thinks this is a fine example of our young entertainers and their ability. Barlow Girl have performed in concert at our church here in Prattville to what was described as a sellout crowd. Now I know why.
