This is the moving story of an exceptional man, as told by Nikki Grimes and illustrated by Bryan Collier, both winners of the Coretta Scott King Award. Barack Obama has motivated Americans to believe with him, to believe that every one of us has the power to change ourselves and change our world.

They are usually very particular about what they sell, that it upholds their values. This book does not. As someone else pointed out, it makes Obama sound as if he was a divine soul. As a follower of Christ I am against that portrayal. Beyond the overtone of extreme love and awe for our president, it does not align with his own autobiographies! He discusses having several sexual relationships and frequent drug use in his own books (starting at least in high school). That is just the tip of things I found distasteful. I would not have my children read this and idolize him- only to find out later what kind of man he really is. This is utter trash and you'd be better off just reading his own autos to get the good and bad of a human being. NOT a being of worship. To those who reviewed saying they were grateful for the info I feel sorry and even more-so with them sharing it with young impressionable children. You should have double checked your info source. Read his AUTO!!!

ShameonYou1 Stars Out Of 5September 26, 2009ShameonYouI was floored by the Messiah-like portrayal and iconographic art stylings used to describe and show Obama in this book. The portrayals, descriptions, and even the story of his life was heavy with overt references to some sort of divine birth, etc. and I found it completely disturbing as a Christian. The only indoctrination I want my children exposed to is that that solely comes from the Bible itself, not near-sacrilegious depictions of a political figure.
