There are some people in the "balconies" of our lives who cheer us on, energizing us by their warm affirmations. There are others who live down in the "basement," coldly tearing away at our souls with their unfair and critical judgments. This book is about discovering the balcony people in your life and about being a balcony person to others.

As a Christian counselor, I have given this treasure of a book to dozens of clients who were struggling with self-esteem and crazy-making family issues. Heatherly's simple grasp of what constitutes God's grace is like finding a spring of cold water on a hot, hot day - absolutely refreshing. I highly recommend this most encouraging book.
