Entertaining, though not specifically Christian
October 6, 2013
I would call this movie wholesome themed rather than Christian per se because, while the motivations and goals are good overall, God is never mentioned.
This movie supports general themes of family, togetherness, reconciliation, and good health. While not overtly Christian, it doesn't promote life's negatives either. There are restaurant scenes, but I don't recall any promotion of alcohol. (Many restaurants--like supermarkets--serve alcohol; that doesn't mean all customers buy, consume or abuse it.)
Overall, I'd recommend this movie as entertainment, Just don't expect it to specifically encourage anyone in Christ (which is why I've given it a 4).
You can't watch this movie for 20 mins without them pouring out the alcohol. Bar scenes, drinking, do we REALLY need to watch this although the story line is OK...I can see drinking movies in a theatre anyday. Do we need this marketed as a christian movie? There's NOTHING of a christian message involved. Too bad Christianbook has to sell this. There is so much better out there!
This is one of the best movie ever shown on the Hallmark Channel! How can you go wrong with Dale Midkiff and Lisa Hartman Black? Not to mention Rue McClennahan! Has a wonderful story and you hardly notice that 2 hours have gone by! Please watch it and then you will have to add it to your DVD collection! So happy it is finally out on DVD!
