Author Bio

CHARLES G. FINNEY (1792-1875) is recognized as the most effective evangelist of the 19th century. It is estimated that more than half a million people were converted to Christ through his evangelistic ministry. After becoming a lawyer he carefully explored the claims of Christ and was powerfully converted in 1821. An avid student of the Bible, he soon engaged in preaching and teaching throughout many eastern and southern states. The result was a revival which altered the course of American history.

This is Christian must read. I gave my copy to my mother's pastor after reading.

Absolutely fantastic! It is an amazing account of Finney's own revival and how God used Finney for revivals all across the East coast. What is missing from this book is his theological ideas on doctrines such as baptism, etc. The book keeps me guessing. I also want to know what people of his time believed him that was so at odds with Finney's views. Now I can't wait to read his lectures on revivals, which should shed some light on that. Highly recommend this book!

It was an easy read, yet gave me great insight into an age and event that I did not experience. His writing encourages me that we too can have revival even in this day.
