Alister McGrath has pronounced atheism's twilight; Daniel Dennett is one of the "new atheists". But philosophical enemies need not be uncivil, especially in public, and so with this collection of articles and transcribed lecture notes the tone is friendly even when attacking the other side's perspective. McGrath and Dennett get the spotlight here, first with the dialogue they entered into at the Greer-Heard Forum in early 2007 and followed by essays presented the day after the debate as another part of the forum, one by William Lane Craig defending arguments for God's existence followed by three critical of faith-based scientific apologetics. A more theistic bent is displayed in the final three essays from noted theologians J. P. Moreland, Paul Copan and Ted Peters.
