This book comes HIGHLY recommended by me - someone who first accepted Jesus into my life at 15, but have had doubts about whether I had done that or not ever since. I also have asked Him into my heart again and again. This has helped me remember to REST in the completed work of Jesus. My only regret is that I didn't purchase the hard copy book because it was hard on my iPad going back and forth from the footnotes.
Growing up in the church, I went to the altar countless times asking Jesus into my heart. I wanted to be sure. After taking discipleship classes and Bible studies, I finally realized He had been there since the first time I asked. Too bad this book wasn't written way back then! Reading it actually made me laugh, as I thought back to my own experiences. I enjoyed the book and would recommend it to those who might not be sure.
I got this book because many of my friends are dealing with the nagging doubt of their salvation. Can't say that the thought has not crossed my mind before either. The book lays some foundation for committing a person's salvation and will be a good reference to provide someone you know who is wrestling with doubt. The book is practical and useful.
This is a great book to read if your going through doubt about your salvation or if you want to help other find assurance. I have been a Christian for a long time now and have struggled with doubt but this book helped be tremendously! I have already loaned this book to several friends and the, like me, have loved it. I would recommend this book to anyone.
For someone who is confused by the various church voices about God's love for them this book clarifies many issues. It is well written and easy reading spiced with humor. I found valuable his arguments concerning "once saved always saved" but do not totally agree with his conclusions. I do agree that salvation is walking with Jesus to the end of your life.
