a wonderfully written story about taking the right paths in life , knowing whom to trust and perserverance . I enjoyed the action and the suspense that is woven around keeping our faith with our heavenly Father.
Sometimes it is very difficult to find christian fiction that you would recommend to a secular crowd. This story is not only very wholesome with subtle biblical meaning, but is is well written and entertaining as well. The story centers around Callie Hayes who has a fear of heights. In an attempt to get over her phobia and other fears in general she volunteers for a psychology experiment. unfortunately, Callie doesn't realize the experimenters are not human and she is thrown into another world that has become her testing grounds. Left with an instruction manual and some supplies, Callie has to figure out how to escape this world that has become her "Arena".
I am a huge fan of sci fi in general and especially christian genra. Sadly not many books are wrote from a christian point of view in sci fi and that is where this book is unique and amazing. The story starts off exciting, charecters are developed along the way and you really get to know what makes them tick. The visual images that the author paints are amazing. If I ever wished for a book to be made into a movie it is this one. If you are looking for action, romance, adventure, mystery and all around good writting then this is your book!
I was excited to start this book, as I enjoy reading good, Christian fantasy books every once in a while. This was not a book I would call good or Christian. This was more sci-fi than anything (which I don't mind, but this was a little too, well, weird for me), but that's not what bothered me--there were instances of (fairly graphic) sexual violence that absolutely disgusted me. I am now hesitant to read any other books by Karen Hancock.
