Product Description

Slattery explains why he and his wife left the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and how they have found new freedom outside of the SDA Church's specific dogma. With the sensitivity of one who has "been there" he invites other Seventh-day Adventists to examine the points he offers and to possibly reassess their view of the authenticity of the prophecies of Ellen G. White.

Well written, excellent documentation--not 'accusing,' and most importantly, gave me answers I was looking for! THANKS!

It is unfortunate how many people, like Mr. Slattery, are so dishonest about what SDA's really believe. This book simply regurgitates the misinformation found on so many websites that attack SDA's If you want to know what SDA's believe ASK ONE! The ones I know are Christ centered and more than happy to answer any of your questions honestly. You wouldn't want someone to go to your enemy and ask what kind of character you have would you?

As a former SDA member, the author should know better that E.G. White never told people to do anything that was not in accordance with the Bible. As we all know, most religions have a founder, so I would like the author to tell us a little bit more about his new religion, and in what way it is better than what was thaught by the SDA church.

As a former SDA I cannot say enough to everyone to examine the scriptures for yourself. It is all there, Christ died for our salvation, it cannot be earned. What I have found is that once a person is dissatisfied with the sect and leave it is difficult to believe again. Praise God, He sent someone to me to show me the way. I love all of my relatives who are SDA's some who are even ministers. I have been ostracized for my new "new" beliefs. I now belong to a bible believing, spirit filled, charismatic church. It does take a long time to get all of the false teachings out of your mind, but please everyone study the bible not teachings by White. Always put the scripture above all else. We do need more indepth teaching on false prophets. Thank You for writing the truth.

GREAT book that exposes this "Cult"! The price is another plus. Easy to read. Would recommend.

The author's issues as an insider differ from broader apologetics by focusing on less important issues of SDA's unbiblical perspectives. More important than food issues are the issues of Sabbatarianism as required for salvation, law-keeping as possible since Christ's advent which makes salvation by works rather than grace, and annhilationism which voids God's justice. Brave exposure of White's useless ramblings and doubtful prophetic abilities, however. He minimally exposes her writings for what they are: combining personal biases with cursory Bible interpretation and claiming illumination typical of the burned over district. Much more could have been exposed in this book.

My reviews usually get into the details and reasons for any objections, and usually also include complements, where due. This Book was such a waste of time and money, that I actually returned it, to at least save me the latter. Well explained reasons for disagreements, like Dawkins, are always welcomed. But Slattery should have at least Googled the subject to get a few of the facts correct. Anyways, if you want something good to read on the subject, by a non=biased, non-Seventh Day Adventist, read the most recent edition of The Kingdom of the Cults, by Walter Martin, and Ravi Zacharias.

This author has nothing better to do but to try to destroy the true faith, which is the SDA church. The SDA people are true believer's in Christ. Don't waste you time and money on garbage like this book.
