Great review on phonics!
My daughter needed a good review of phonics for spelling and language rules, Apples was it. We finished the first workbook and will begin this one in her junior year. Each lesson takes about 5 minutes to complete. It is a great product to begin your school day.

Wonderful!
Thank you for Apples! This is a straight forward and easy program to use. Our kids love it and don't complain about Spelling anymore. My daughter wishes there were more than two books. She has said many times that Susan Kemmerer should publish books on other subjects. Great for struggling and non-struggling spellers alike.

I love this book! I have a couple older children who still struggle with spelling and this is such a great way to review spelling rules in just minutes a day and seems to have helped a lot. I've been rotating between book one and book two each high school year for these older children.

In response to the one negative reviewer, she is correct that I didn't respond to her phone message (I am the author of Apples). I do apologize. It is now 9 months later, and I can't even remember which word she felt was incorrect. At the time I had one son that just got married and I was hosting a 50th wedding anniversary for my parents (both events at the end of August), starting school with my own 5 remaining students, and preparing for another son's wedding. I'm 1st and foremost a homeschool mommy, not a business woman. I wrote these drills for my precious children, and despite my lack of time to act like a business woman, I do take my own children's education more seriously than I can say...all of that to say that I did check the word in 3 dictionaries (wish I could remember which one it was...I just read through all of the "long -a" section, and can't find any mistakes). What I recall is that the only dictionary that confirmed the reviewer's observation was the old websters. My 2 newer dictionaries confirmed that it was correct. I wish I had responded at the time...but was already pulling all-nighters to keep up with my schedule. I rest in God that I am trying to keep my priorities straight. And, these lessons (which I believe God gave me the creativity to create for my own precious children) did work for us.
