Before you choose this book for a Bible study, read the stories entitled "Sobbing in a New York Airport" on page 125 and "My Crooked Situation" on page 194.
Our study leader didn't even discuss Chapter 12 because of the choice she and her husband made keeping their children in an evil environment. (You must read to believe it!) The subject of the chapter was asking "Why" things happen. It is a no-brainer why the bad things happened!
On page 125, I was so sad for Linda's daughter! Linda left her daughter ALONE when she had an allergic reaction to her seizure medication!! What parent would do that??? It seemed that Linda made this story about her - being "poor me".
In Chapter 10, Linda tells us to write down "what is the worst that can possibly happen"!! Everyone in the class refused to go there. That is SO opposite of what Jesus wants us to do.
We need to read God's Holy Word and pray for discernment about what He wants us to study. Just because someone publishes a book doesn't mean it is inspired by God.
This is the best inspirational book I've read so far! I'm sure I will read it more than once and I wish I could buy it for every woman I know! Wish there were a male version because I think men would enjoy it also....A+ with this one!
I ordered this book for bible study in our church circle and so far, we have only had one lesson from it, which I gave. I am one that does not read the lesson verbatim to the group, but other do, so I do not know how they will feel about presenting the lessons. I was able to read the lesson myself and tell the circle what I gleaned from it. However, at this time I cannot say what the overall rating should be.
