What a hilarious, honest, and refreshing look at marriage! I found myself laughing out loud from the fake endorsements through the very end. Many of Shankle's stories reminded me of my own marriage. Sometimes it was funny, and sometimes it caused me to think about things in a new way. While I don't normally read memoirs about people I don't "know," I have thoroughly enjoyed both of Melanie Shankle's books. I love her sense of humor and hope you will find something to laugh over while you read this delightful book!

Sometimes you just have to laugh!

Humorous story about marriage and what it takes to make it work. In the beginning of the story I thought to myself that this person really hates being married but as the book progressed it turns out she just has some bad luck and bad situations that make the book intriguing. Would recommend to anyone who thinks their relationship is rough or to those needing a nice release from the tension. We all have bad things happen we just have to get through them and then realize that things aren't as bad as they seem and may even be humorous.

Melanie Shankle had me literally laughing out loud with this book. At night while reading in bed, I would keep my husband up with my constant giggling and chuckling. She uses her dead pan sense of humor to accurately and very realistically describe what it is like to be married for over a decade.

At times, I would read portions to my husband that really made me laugh and he would find them funny as well. It was a wonderful follow-up to her first book, Sparkly Green Earrings. It was funny and yet inspiring at the same time. A great read that I would read again and again. Highly recommend any wife/wife to be should read.

For the first few chapters, I was delighted with this book. I enjoyed Melanie Shankle's light-hearted style and her self-deprecating humor, and I smiled as I read. (I didn't laugh, but that's me, not the book -- there really isn't a lot that makes me laugh.) I looked forward to enjoying the whole book.

Then, to my surprise, I found myself increasingly reluctant to pick it up, when I had other books to read, other activities to enjoy. It wasn't that I didn't like the book, or the things she wrote about. I can't even point to any chapter and say, that one I didn't like. I think I just got tired of that style and that type of humor. It's good in small doses, but not a whole book. (I feel the same way about reading books by Erma Bombeck.)
