Disappointing Ebook Format
After obtaining a free copy of this ebook from Booksneeze (in exchange for an honest review) I downloaded Max on Life and read it in Kindle for PC format.
Max on Life is a collection of questions and answers on spiritual matters. The questions are grouped (Lucado-style) in topics starting with H: Hope, Hurt, Help, Him/Her, Home, Haves/Have-Nots, Hereafter. These groupings did not make the ebook easy to use. After spending several hours manoevering myself around this e-book, I was disappointed with both the format and the contents of Max on Life.
This book is more of a reference tool than a unified book where chapters build on each other. So a more detailed table of contents, with a list of all the questions under each "H" topic would have been helpful. A hyperlink between the question (in the table of contents) and the page that addresses the question would make the e-book more user-friendly.
There was very little connection between the questions, so I never found myself asking: I wonder what comes next. The uninspiring font and format of each page made me feel that I was reading a rough draft, rather than a finished copy. The English teacher/editor in me kept wanting to make suggestions!
I don't usually read ebooks, but reading this one made me realize that they should be more than books simply downloaded onto an electronic reader. Ebooks have the potential to be more interesting and easy to read if editors maximized unique ebook features - such as hyperlinks.

A Great tool for new christians or those seeking.
This book is set out with topical subjects, and at the back has a topic index and a scripture index.
Questions about Life asked by "fans", answered by Max Lucado.
Some questions include:
Hereafter: Cemeteries, Heaven, Hell, and âÂÂWho goes where?âÂÂ
Help: Prayer, Scripture, and âÂÂWhy church?âÂÂ
Hurt: Conflicts, Calamities, and âÂÂWhy me?âÂÂ
I didn't enjoy this book as much as I was hoping to. I know Max is a great writer and has some great ideas, but this book didn't take my fancy.
I wasn't able to get involved and feel anything. I need to connect when I read but with this I didn't. There were some good questions but at times it felt like the question wasn't answered.
Even though I didn't enjoy it for myself, I would recommend it to a new christian or someone who is seeking. Everyone has their own opinions, and while it's not a book for me, it might be the one for someone else.
I would get it to have on my book shelf as I will be in full time ministry and there will be many people I come across that I could lend it to.

A good resource for new Christians
I'm going to come right out and admit it......I'm a big Max Lucado fan. I have almost all of his books. So, when I saw this e-book up for review through Book Sneeze, I jumped at the chance to get it for free. =)
This book is not like any of his other books that I have read. As the description states, it is a collection of the most often asked questions that he has collected over the years and his answers to them. As always, he is easy to understand and his answers are Biblically grounded. Perhaps because I am blessed to have attended a strong Bible-believing church for years, none of his answers jumped out at me and grabbed me in some of the "Ahhh-ha!" moments I sometimes find in his writing.
The questions he answers are organized and answered in the following categories:
Hope: God, Grace, and "Why Am I Here?"
Hope: Conflicts, Calamities, and "Why Me?"
Help: Prayer, Scripture, and "Why Church?"
Him/Her: Sex, Romance, and "Any Chance of a Second Chance?"
Home: Diapers, Disagreements, and "Any Hope for Prodigals?"
Haves/Have Nots: Work, Money, and "Where's the Lifeline?"
Hereafter: Cemeteries, Heaven, Hell and "Who Goes Where?"
None of his answers go into great depth, but I do believe this book would be a good starting place for a new Christian and does cover a lot of questions with very sound answers rooted in the Word of God. With my children growing up and asking many of these questions as they do, I plan on keeping this as a resource for them as well as to pass on to others to whom I think it would be useful.
For those who may not be firmly grounded in a solid evangelical church with a pastor of their own, this book and it's insights could be very valuable. Max Lucado speaks in this book as if he is speaking to his own church. His answers are not over-your-head or condescending, but rather are "spoken" with shepherd's heart in his desire to draw Christians closer together and closer to the One for whom he wished to draw you ultimately to.

This book answers the difficult questions in life.
Church answers: life is full of them. Even more so, life is full of questions that are often difficult- sometimes categorized as being too difficult to answer. If you are a fraction of the short list that details individuals who claim to not have questions, I am certain that you will discover a question or two that you have never before considered. As for the vast majority, including myself, reading this book offers to uplift the questioning spirit by providing practical answers from a well-rounded perspective gained over years of experience. Another particular benefit to this book is simply, it's style. Have you ever caught yourself in another land while reading? Moments pass and the next thing you know, you cannot recall anything that you have read in the previous several pages? I have faced that situation at some point literally with every book I have ever read. However, this book is written in such a style that allows the reader to begin, end, and be captivated with much ease. I would definitely recommend this resource for those who are bombarded with personal questions daily, those who are simply curious, and those who fall somewhere in between- so in other words, just about anyone.ÃÂ
