Located in: Olmsted Falls, OH Submitted: June 23, 2007 Tell us a little about yourself. I am an English teach of both junior and senior high school levels. I have taught for almost 30yrs. I found myself frustrated with teaching some literature that was either boring or not relevant to students. What was your motivation behind this project? I would love public schools to include Lewis's books into the reading curriculum because they deal with real matters that my students can relate to even though they are not Amish, nor perhaps, even religious. Yet, they can see how a spiritual approach to matters does exist beyond the violence of "the street" approach. What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I know I learned that being born into the Amish life does not make them immuned to human weaknesses, desires, temptation or pain. Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Beverly Lewis has been a huge influence on me. I learned that I absolutely love to read her fiction because they are filled with a great variety of plots and are not at all offensive to the reader. Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: When will Beverly Lewis publish her next book, and what will be its title? I am eagerly searching the book stores for a new publication. I've read all of Lewis's books and can't wait for another one! Find Related Products |
