The Prodigal Son is a parable of a wayward son reunited with his father and family after having squandered all his inheritance through wasteful and idolatrous living. Learn of God's overwhelming and encompassing love for those who humbly repent of their foolish ways. The example of the father's joy for the return of his repentant young son is contrasted against the trust and rewards kept for those who do not waste that which God entrusts to them. Recommended for ages 4 to 8. Running Time: Approximately 45 minutes, Dolby Digital Stereo. Directed by Richard Rich, former Walt Disney Productions director.

Church Of St. Michael4 Stars Out Of 5January 25, 2010Church Of St. MichaelI think this is a very good DVD and I am so glad I purchased it. I will be using it with children in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades who are preparing to celebrate 1st Reconciliation. I especially liked the ending and the situation with the older son. The song "Welcome Home" is very good and I appreciated having the "Sing-along" part. I would recommend this DVD.
Marisol5 Stars Out Of 5February 17, 2009MarisolAs a Children Ministry Director and Children Educator the Nest movies are all excellent for children of all ages!! The Prodigal Son we saw in class for Valentine's Day as to show the kids of the love that our parents & God have for us even when we make foolish mistakes, they are always waiting for us unconditional. The movie is also funny and kept the kids alert and quiet. Please keep making more movies. The approximate time is also great in these movies. Two thumbs up!!
Jeanine5 Stars Out Of 5May 13, 2008JeanineNest does an excellent job in telling this story on a kids level. I showed it to my 1st -3rd graders at church and they were totally involved in the entire story. Laughing when the son was making silly mistakes and gasping at the tragedy he made of his life, then they too, smiled and rejoiced when the father welcomed him home. Bravo, Nest, on a quality dvd that the greatest storyteller himself would be proud of.
