I'm No Angel: From Victoria's Secret Model to Role Model
I'm No Angel is the true life story of Kylie Bisutti's life in the modeling industry. She gives an open honest look at the modeling industry and the struggles the models endure in order to get to the top and succeed. Her short devotional in the back of the book gives food for thought and helps point out that true beauty is within a person.

I'm no Angel by Kylie Bisutti is Kylie's story of how from her early teen years she struggled to make it in modeling and then to winning the Victoria's Secret Runway Angel competition. Then she began struggling spirtually with her life in the modeling world. She shows a rare behind the scenes look at modeling and shares her testimony.
I have been wanting to read this book since I saw it reviewed on the Women Living Well blog. I really liked the way Kylie presented her story. It felt like you were just talking to a good friend. She is so honest and forthcoming with her testimony and how she came to know the Lord. It felt as if I was coming into her confidence and she was sharing it with me personally. I really enjoyed this book.

I'm No Angel: True Beauty
IâÂÂm No Angel is the true story of Kylie Bisutti, who was a Victoria SecretâÂÂs Angel and top model. Kylie begins her story recounting what it was like growing up in the small town of Jackpot. She had a close relationship with her parents, grandparents, and many cousins. Though they were poor, they were happy. Despite her happy childhood, Kylie always felt that her identity was in her beauty, which many people commented about. Because people told her that she should be a model, she made it her lifeâÂÂs mission to do so. With her motherâÂÂs help, Kylie started working with a model agency and begun to make a stellar portfolio starting at the age of around 14 after the family moved to Las Vegas. As she begun to climb the ladder of success in the modeling business, she faced many pressures that would challenge her Christian beliefs and safety. As a model, Kylie learned what it really took to be a top model: staying thin through whatever means necessary, compromising modesty, putting up with pervert photographers, believing in lies meant to control you, and dealing with insults from other models. Sadly, her aspirations to become a model also led to her compromising on her Christian beliefs and put her relationship with Jesus in the backseat. Kylie also was forced to grow up too early and often lived with other young models away from her parents as a teen where she was introduced to the harsh realities of modeling such as eating disorders, drug abuse, and situations that threaten safety and well-being. After many years, in the modeling business however, things did start to change for the better. First, she met and married a Christian man who proved to be supportive and loving in a selfless manner. Next, she was given an invitation to join a competition to become a VictoriaâÂÂs Secret Angel. During the competition, she met a few girls and had the opportunity to share her Christian faith with them. When Kylie won the competition and became an Angel, however, that is when she saw the modeling business for what it really was and she did not like it. In the end, she had to make a decision: would she choose modeling or would she choose her faith in Jesus. After being an Angel for about a year, Kylie finally made the realization that she could not be a Christ-like Christian and be a VictoriaâÂÂs Secret Angel. Much to her husbandâÂÂs relief, Kylie chose to leave modeling and to become a Proverbs 31 woman. I have to be honest that I found this book to be very enlightening. I have never been interested in fashion or modeling and had no idea what the business is really like. KylieâÂÂs story has really opened my eyes and I am glad that I was not like most girls when I was growing up. I never struggled with the pressures that Kylie and many other girls struggle with concerning being beautiful and wanting to feel loved by others. Instead, I have always found my worth in Christ. I think KylieâÂÂs story is something that every girl should read because I realize that many girls are not like me. Many girls are fooled into believing that they must wear certain clothes, do certain things even if they are immoral, and act a certain way to feel loved and beautiful and this book helps them to see that they are loved already unconditionally by God and that He has made them beautiful as they are. I also liked the 30 day devotional that Kylie has added in the back of the book and I think it would be very beneficial to use for a Bible Study or even a girlâÂÂs youth group/Sunday School class. This is an important message that girls need to hear more than ever because of all the messages that the world tells them they need to be, have, do to be beautiful.

Kylie shares her story with openness and honesty.
For years Kylie pursued her dream of being a supermodel, and she finally made it big when she won the Victoria's Secret Runway Angel competition. To get to the top, though, she had to make compromises, put herself in dangerous situations, and lose weight in unhealthy ways.
In her book, "I'm No Angel," Kylie exposes some of the lies and harsh realities of the modeling industry. Even more importantly, Kylie tells the story of how she realized that her modeling work was not glorifying to the Lord or honoring to her husband. When she came to this realization, she left lingerie modeling immediately, and eventually left modeling altogether. Her desire now is to honor the Lord, be a Proverbs 31 wife, and be a good role model to girls.
Kylie shares her story with openness and honesty. It was a blessing to read about what the Lord has done in her life. I look forward to reading more books from her in the future.
