Product Description

Author Jerry Kline came face-to-face with one of life's greatest challenges, a high-grade brain tumor-the type from which people usually don't survive. Although initially shocked and stunned, Kline met the tumor head-on and recovered.

Join the author and his family as they are thrust into the unfamiliar world of cancer, surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, and MRIs. Journey with them through the ups and downs, detours, and victories over a brain tumor which, although removed years ago, has attempted two comebacks. The battle isn't completely over! Jerry must constantly stay on guard and be prepared to fight it again, at any time. Striving to lead an honorable, Christian life, Jerry works hard to keep the Kline clan running smoothly. He's not interested in worldly gossip, in fact, he states, "I try to mind my own business. Why can't my brain do the same?"

Author/Artist Review

Author: Jerry Kline

Tell us a little about yourself.  6 3/4 year high grade brain tumor survivor. Married for 27 years to Kathy, we have five children. Graduate of Texas A&M, class of 1980. My website is jerrykline.net. This book is already available on amazon.com and bn.com with a "Look Inside" teaser. An eBook edition is also available.

What was your motivation behind this project?  My purpose is to give hope to those who lost hope. If a normal, ordinary person like me can survive a brain tumor, by the grace of God for the glory of God, then why not you? I found very few available resources from survivors when I learned of my tumor in January 2004. I longed for a book from a brain tumor survivor, but there were two at the time and now those two are out of date - treatments have changed.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  The encouragement to face a difficult trial (a brain tumor or any other earth-shattering problem) with the knowledge that they are not alone, there are survivors, and with the opportunity to see that the Lord stand ready to seal a person for all eternity through His Son, Jesus Christ.

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  It was my joy to generate to begin the manuscript when I reached the 5 year anniversary of the removal of my gbm tumor. It was a delight to interact with the professional editors at Winepress as they worked to refine and format the manuscript into a true story of hope and encouragement that is worthy of a reader's attention and of the Lord's blessing.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  The source for the contents of the book is my brain tumor experience. The inspiration for the book is the Lord, who wants me to comfort others with the same comfort I was provided upon learning of my brain tumor in 2004.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  Please note that all net proceeds of sales of An Unremarkable Man are donated to the Legacy Brain Foundation. I am not making a financial profit from this book. In the same way, I have declined offers from companies to place advertisements on my website. This initiative is one of hope and help, from my heart to yours.
