Amplified Bible Compact 4.5 5 6 6

The print is lacking in crispness I thought this would be a good version of the Amplified Bible, due to the smaller size. However, I was dismayed that the print is fuzzy, like the print from manual printing presses of several generations ago. This made me sorry that I purchased this Bible. (I bought both the imitation leather and the hardback version; they are similar as to paper and printing quality.) Perhaps the paper could have been a bit finer/thinner, resulting in a thinner Bible. With poor print quality and clunky book thickness, I hesitate to recommend this compact Amplified Bible. Since the hardback version lays fairly flat when opened, I would buy that over the leatherette version, if you want the best bang for the buck. June 19, 2012

Always good to own this! Amplified is always a staple bible for me. You want to dig a little deeper, this one helps get you further understanding. This one is in small print, you only know this if you look at the front cover. Very good size and love the hardcover! March 1, 2012

Great sized Bible This Bible is a great size and very easy to hold (even for my arthritic fingers!), as it is not heavy. I really like it, and the Amplified version, although not great for memorizing (it's a bit 'wordy') or for easy casual reading, is very good for study. My only criticism is that the print is not very clear but is what I would call 'scratchy' which doesn't make for easy reading if like me, your eyesight is not so good. Overall though I am quite happy with this Bible. Definitely value for money. November 12, 2011
