Has the nation finally abandoned its Judeo-Christian heritage, or are we making great strides for Christ?
It is an oft-repeated observation in churches that the United States is no longer a Christian nation, if it ever really was. But there s also no question that Christianity looms large in our culture. Christians see that, on the one hand, this culture has abandoned its Christian roots almost entirely, and believers must now act as spiritual guerillas, infiltrating the culture undercover to do what we can to stave off inevitable collapse. On the other hand, we see that Christianity still has enormous positive influence in our culture, and we should take heart that our salt still seasons society and our light still shines from a hill.
This study evaluates these two contrasting views, based on articles in CHRISTIANITY TODAY by Harold O. J. Brown and Leith Anderson.

--Teaching point one: When God s people find themselves implicated in the wicked deeds of their society, they must seek God s atoning mercy.
--Teaching point two: Wherever there are believers, there will also be wicked people. We cannot root them out, but we can see that the good seed continues to grow to maturity.
--Teaching point three: We, as God s people, maintain our unique perspective on the sinful society around us by taking advantage of our unique spiritual privileges.
