I had been waiting quite some time before I could purchase this dvd and what a joy when I did. I watched it once and will need to do so again and again as I found Holmberg's presentation of christian church history to be sufficient and more, very organized, and detailed in its information. It starts in the 1st century and the first believers and Rome and Constantine, Augustine, to the growth of Roman Catholicism and the Anglican Church, there doctrines, why/how they changed, the new reformers-Luther, Calvin and the new doctrine of God's grace alone that saves (without works)and more, 'other' early christian belief systems/churches, heretics: Arminius, Pelagius and others and their teachings and the 3 Councils which overwhelmingly disapproved them. There is scripture evidence stating the key differences of the doctrines of Calvanism vs. Arminianism(two surviving forms) and also explains these more clearly with other evidences, Roman Catholicism, Pelagianism and Semi-Pelagianism) and more. The second dvd explains, I think, with good evidence the errors and heresies of these 'other' beliefs, with the word of God, reliable manuscript evidence, Paul's/Calvin's teachings and the new continuing language knowledge. It also points to and details difficult passages on the bibles teaching about this defining doctrine of salvation by grace alone and who actually needs to get saved, who actually will get saved and most importantly how these get saved and who actually does the actual saving-Sovereignty vs. man (determinism). With all its evidence, this film's point and purpose confirms all that God always has been and continues ('till we all get to heaven and the new kingdom) to be-Sovereign Lord over all things, under and over the earth and in heaven. The third dvd includes several ways or methods that have been used in the past to some success to evangelize to the "social and seeker sensitive" gospel being expounded in and out of today's churches. It can be helpful.

Amazing Grace. My wife and I cried while we were watching praising God. We bought two more DVDs and gave them to our close friends, a widow and a friend who is looking for a Bible-centered Church. Both of them cried too. I will be buying more in the near future to give away to friends and relatives especially those who are widows and widowers.I wish there is a CD available to buy.
