The problem of evil is one of the greatest challenges to the Christian faith made by skeptics today. Even for devoted followers of Christ, there is no greater test of faith than questions like, "If God really is all-powerful and loving, then why am I suffering this way." These six sessions by authors John Ankerberg and Dillon Burroughs will help you discover what God's Word has to share on this vital issue with relevant commentary and probing discussion questions.
The Contenders series is purposely designed to give truth seekers an opportunity to ask questions and probe into the basics of Christianity within the friendly, caring environment of small group discussion. The questions are presented to represent the viewpoints of both the Christian and the skeptic. Those who already follow Jesus will grow in the basic beliefs of the Christian faith and understand how to address the issues of their friends who are still exploring Christianity.

Sonja4 Stars Out Of 5Really needed for people today.May 10, 2012SonjaQuality: 4Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I am using this in two ladies Bible Studies and everyone feels it is answering their questions and meeting needs. It doesn't lead to as much discussion as I had hoped, but it offers a lot of good information from Scripture as well as experience. We are using the DVD which does not exactly parallel the study book. I found that DVD program 1 goes with the Intro., 2 goes with Session 1 in the book, 3 with Session 2, etc. and the last program on the DVD is much like the first one. There are 8 DVD programs and 6 study book sessions. It all works out in the end and I recommend using both. It is presented very clearly.
