Located in: Antioch, TN Submitted: August 18, 2009 Tell us a little about yourself. In the past I have written for children's television and won several screenwriting awards. I have worked in various ministries including working with kids in AWANA and Civil Air Patrol, an auxiliary of the USAF. What was your motivation behind this project? When my daughter was in high school she asked if I could write her a book. She felt let out since we didn't agree with Harry Potter, which was just becoming all the rage. I undertook the challenge and from the first chapter, she and her friends were hooked. What do you hope folks will gain from this project? To help older teens to understand the power of personal faith and integrity as a guiding force in their life. How were you personally impacted by working on this project? What started out as a story written by request, became a witnessing tool to my daughter's friends. Most were non-Christian and from diverse backgrounds and cultures. The story penetrated to the point they began to speak with me about personal trouble and a few even came to church. Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? In this case, I would have to say the Holy Spirit was my inspiration, because I saw the story penetrate in ways that were surprising. Some of the kids were immigrants from Iraq, Egypt and Africa, professed Muslims by faith. Find Related Products |
