All the Women of the Bible is a treasure trove of information. Saints, sinners, harlots and angels, not a one is missing from this wonderful collection of biographies and stories of over 400 biblical women. If you've ever asked yourself the question, "Who was she?" â?? you need only to open this amazing book to find out! They're all here, all real women, and all willing to pay whatever price asked to gain their heart's desire. Their struggles, successes and failures still resonate within us today. All the Women of the Bible is divided into two sections: "The Book of Names," and "The Book of Stories." "The Book of Names," opens the book and contains over 400 entries. It is a well-researched and easy-to-follow biographical dictionary and thesaurus of sorts, listing each woman along with a short description of her life and citations where her story can be found and cross references to other dictionary entries. "The Book of Stories," makes up the second half of the book and takes quite a different tone than that of the dictionary. Here, retold in rich detail, are the stories of fifty-six very important womenâ??women whose lives were changed by crisis and challenge; women who learned, shared, or shunned faith in the Lord.
No Thanks1 Stars Out Of 5Not What You'd Expect -August 30, 2015No ThanksQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1I have to disagree with the reviews presented here. Our Bible Study group purchased this book with high hopes for a couple of months of good discussion of Bible history and the contribution of women. The book did not live up to the promise. Mr. del Masto misrepresents the culture of the time, trying to make it into our modern culture instead of helping us understand the true culture of the Bible. He is contemptuous of the young women in the stories, presenting them as spoiled, temperamental brats with few mental capabilities. He presents the older women in most stories as carping, fish-wife type women who complain and bad-mouth everybody and everything. And he has no compulsions about changing the facts of the Bible if needed to make his story come out right. We came to the book to learn and have stimulating discussions about the women presented. For my part, Mr. del Mastro told stories that enraged me with their condescension, failed to teach me a single thing about the women or the Bible, and proved to be a shallow, unpleasant waste of time.

An excellent resource for anyone who wants to enhance a Bible study or just learn more about the women in the Bible.

The pieces on Mary were amazing. This work is truly inspired, and I am better for the reading! I will be gifting this book to others for some time!
