I found this book at a second hand store and it looked like my kind of Christian fiction so I wasted no time in buying it. It was my first book by Jane Orcutt and so I didn't know what to expect. I'm afraid I'd set rather high expectation for this book and for that reason I was slightly disappointed. Although it was a good story and written fairly well, I still don't know if I'd read it again. It was cute, enjoyable and very different. Our heroine was resolute in her mission and sometimes I found it a bit annoying, although in the end everything worked out. But then again... doesn't it always.

I'd recommend this to those who like a good historical romance. I mean, the romance isn't overly passionate but the history is quite fascinating.

I enjoyed this book so much that I have read it several times and would read it again!

A clean, fun romance written in the first person.

If you like stories aboard a ship then this one is for you.

There is also a little of the old ways of the Chinese thrown in.

    Lots of adventures!

It is such a pity that the author is deceased. I would have loved the continuation of the series.
