Product Description

This dynamic album has been described as "contemporary gospel with heart, spice and class." Led by the powerful vocals of founder Dan Willis, this memorable debut CD showcases styles ranging from the sizzling salsa beats of "Victorious Praise", to the more traditional gospel of "Good Measure", to the jazzy yet soulful meditation "Unconditional".

Dan Willis is the host of Total Living Network's Emmy Award winning "Inspiration Sensation" (a Christian version of "American Idol"). His musical roots go back to 1988 when his passion for gospel music led him to found the "Pentecostals of Chicago Choir," the original powerhouse ensemble that evolved into the energetic gospel group "All Nations Choir."

Author/Artist Review

Author: All Nations Choir
Located in: Alsip, IL
Submitted: January 06, 2006

Tell us a little about yourself.  Our story began 17 years ago when Rev. Dan Willis founded a choir called the Pentecostals of Chicago (POC) as a one-time gathering for a gospel event in Chicago. Since then, that dynamic choir evolved into a major touring recording gospel choir that had recorded six CD projects and three video projects. In August 2003, the POC announced its transition into a new phase of ministry with a new look, focus and name: Dan Willis and the All Nations Choir. Rev. Willis said he was led by the Lord to change the name of the choir to show his heartfelt mission, which has endured over the past 28 years, to "bridge the gap" between races and nationalities.

What was your motivation behind this project?  Actually, the title of our CD, Whole New Day, displays our motivation behind this project, front and center, and not just because of the obvious with the transition this choir made in 2003 that was mentioned in greater detail above. Our project has one recurrent theme: that a "whole new day" dawns each and every day - a loving gift from our Heavenly Father. No matter the circumstances one may face today, a whole new day beckons for all who put their trust in Him.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  It is our hope and desire that whoever listens to our CD will, first and foremost, utilize it as a tool of worship to draw closer to Christ and become more like Him. In addition, we would like for our listeners to get to know more about our mission to continue creating and strengthening relationships within the body of Christ, especially those relationship to transcend racial and cultural barriers.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  Our influences literally span the globe: from Latin America and the Caribbean to gospel and contemporary Christian artists. Embracing music flavors from each source gives us the sounds of who we are.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  The All Nations Choir reflects an aspiration of the choir’s founder and director Rev. Dan Willis, who also serves as founder and senior pastor of Lighthouse Church of All Nations. Located in south suburban Chicago in a town called Alsip, the church is composed of 47 different races and nationalities. Composition of the ANC directly reflects not only the church’s varied makeup, but Rev. Willis’ ongoing dream to “bridge the gap” between races and nationalities. Rev. Willis believes the choir’s uniqueness stems from its true reflection of Chicago and more importantly, the Body of Christ: a mosaic of nationalities and races coming together to minister the Good News of Christ through music.
