A great flavor of the 20s

Though it seems that young Celeste DuFrane has it all, her wealthy background does little to alleviate the questions surrounding why her mother's estate was left to Dana Lundgren, a woman convicted of murder. Especially since the victim of that murder was Celeste's own sister, Mary. Dana and Celeste filter through the past to find the path that led them through their lives.

This story, taking place in the roaring twenties, is filled with secrets, lies, deceptions, confessions, and life-altering discoveries. It offers a nice flavor of the 1920s, the characters are fully developed, and the mystery kept me absorbed.

The Christian influence in this book is evident, and shares the message of mercy. Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. (Luke 6:36.)

All for a Sister, by Allison Pittman, tells the story of two young ladies as they try to put together the pieces of their lives.

One of the girls, Dana Lundgren, spent most of her life in prison for a crime which never occurred. There was no trial or sentencing of the girl and for most of her life she was forgotten, except by a few people.

Celeste DuFrane, on the other hand, never lacked for anything in her life, except for perhaps the love of her mother and brother.

The two girls are thrown together to find the truth about each other. As one part of the story is uncovered, other questions arise.

This novel is one of the best that I have read in recent time. The writing drew me in and kept me mesmerized as the story drew me in and kept me guessing as to what would happen next.

Allison Pittman is a talented author and I look forward to future work by her.

All For a Sister is the third in a series but can be read as a stand-alone. It is set in the Roaring Twenties. The book is confusing at first to keep all the characters straight but the story-line keeps your interest. The deception, treachery, secrets, and infidelity all lend to the suspense present. It took until the very end to solve the questions of some of the why's raised throughout the book. Overall, I enjoyed the book and will go back and read the first two in the series.

I received this book from the Book Club Network in exchange for my honest opinion.

All For A Sister by Allison Pittman - the third installment in the "All For A" Trilogy. Set in the Roaring Twenties, this is a powerful story that mixes deception, intrigue, hope, redemption and forgiveness.

This story keeps you interested and on your toes from the start as you watch the lives of two girls intertwine - showing that things are not always as they seem. It is also a very powerful story of how God never leaves us or forsakes us...even in our darkest hour. He makes all things for His glory...even if we do not see it while we are in the midst of the struggle.

I enjoyed the writing style and loved how Ms. Pittman wove through the different times with ease, without causing confusion. The more I read, the more I had to know...just when I thought there couldn't possibly be anything else, she would surprise me again!

I highly recommend this book, it was wonderful!

It was reading a blurb online that caught my interest and made me want to read All For A Sister. When my copy finally arrived I had to put it aside so I could work on other books in my to-read stack, but I kept going back and looking at it, it kept whispering to me, and somehow it just 'magically' made its way to the top of said stack.

Allison Pittman writes with such a lively distinctive style that I truly enjoy. She tells each story in a refreshingly straightforward way. No frills, just realistic characters living in one of the most fascinating, and least represented, times in history. All For A Sister is also an interesting look into the Hollywood and the world of film during the early years.

I do have to admit that the viewpoint changes for each chapter were a little confusing at first but it didn't take me long to get pulled into the story and then I hardly noticed. As I read I really did have a hard time putting the book down, Allison Pittman grabs her readers and keeps them. Even when I was doing other things I still thought about the story, what had already occurred and what might happen next.

Allison Pittman has penned another historical winner in All For A Sister, don't miss it!

(I received a copy of this book from the publisher through TBCN in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are entirely my own.)
