Product Description

Alice in Wonderland is one of the world's most-beloved works of fiction, charming children and adults alike with Alice's adventures and Carroll's audacious puns and wordplay--but at the same time it is a clever satire, lampooning Victorian education, literature, and politics. Now this enchanting fantasy, enhanced with all 42 original illustrations by John Tenniel, is ready to charm readers of all ages in this unabridged Juvenile Classics edition.

    Not Appropriate for Children

I don't recommend this book for children. It's confusing. For instance, the queen offers Alice a dry biscuit when she says she is thirsty, and Alice accepts it instead of rejecting something that is clearly the opposite of what she needs. The queen is in a position of authority and her actions were neglectful/abusive. That's confusing and disturbing for a child. The book is for adults and young adults to analyze after they have the ability to interpret and trust their ability to distinguish between rational and irrational, good and evil, right and wrong, etc.
