    This review was written for After the Fire.
    Great romantic suspense! Revell's characters are well-rounded, believable, and wonderfully engaging. Freddie in particular becomes walk-off-the-page real with a number of quirks and hang-ups.

    1) She's hauling around fifteen-years' worth of pent-up hurt and anger;

    2) Without even realizing it, she longs for something to fill the loneliness inside—but not God, who has never done her any favors. He had come between her and Jason even more effectively than another woman would have. How does one compete with God, after all?;

    3) The "tough gal" image she stubbornly portrays; and

    4) A quick wit and ready humor.

    It all adds up to an honestly good tale.

    Readers will lose themselves within the pages of After the Fire, and when it's time to say good-bye to Freddie and Jason, they will do so with actual regret. One can't help falling in love with both hero and heroine; and the bad guys_well, they are very, very bad. Who could ask for more in a novel of romance and suspense?

    Kudos to the author for a job well done!
